January 31, 2006 To our valued customers:

Race For Phoenix Promotion Update

You may (or may not have) noticed some slight changes to our website relating to the customer promotion we are currently running. The reason this has occurred is because we have received from NASCAR a letter asking us to not use their name in the promotion. Fair enough, we will be good about it. We have removed any copy that refers to NASCAR. We thought we were being pretty careful about not using their trademarked logo and all, but the last thing we are interested in is helping a ‘suit’ on Howe Street buy another needless toy to add to his/her collection. So no more reference to NASCAR!
The second thing you may have noticed is we had to take the #24 car off as well, we received a letter from the good folks at Hendricks-Gordon Racing asking us to take their car down. A few of us were big fans of the #24 car, and that is how it ended up in our promotion. Again why help a suit on Howe Street when you don’t have to? So no more reference to the #24 car! I guess we’ll have to cheer for someone else from now on.

But in a weird way we are kind of flattered by all of the attention our little company has generated by the likes of NASCAR and Hendricks-Gordon Racing through this promotion, when you think about it we operate in a trading area that represents something like .0003% of the world’s population. It was nice to be on their ‘radar’ in a strange sort of way.

The 1st of the 3 draws starts at the end of February so keep on entering the contest. Its not easy being the locally owned and operated guys, and we thank you for your continued trust and support.

PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT: ECO-FREEZ 50/50 Coolants
M & R Environmental employs a Vacuum Distillation technology for reclaiming glycol. At this time we are the only company in the province to use this method that removes all contaminants found in waste antifreeze. This includes the removal of Chlorides and Sulphates, the corrosive impurities found in the waste anti-freeze.

All of the 50/50 coolant additives provided to M & R Environmental meet the latest OEM specifications. M & R Environmental is able to provide Universal, Long Life, Heavy Duty and Global 50/50 coolants to our valued customers. The heavy duty additives provided to M&R are already pre-charged with the nitrates required for heavy duty vehicles so no supplemental additives are required.

M&R Environmental continues to be a market leader and continues to lead in waste recovery stewardship. The M&R Environmental 50/50 coolants offer the automotive trade an economical choice, price stability, and without making any compromise in product quality. At the same time helping our environment!
If you have any interest in any of our 50/50 coolants please contact us at: 604.876.0506

September 2005

All of the oil we collect from you our valued customer is reprocessed and turned into industrial fuel.
M&R Environmental does not and will not sell any industrial fuels to unregulated industries. We only sell our industrial fuels to regulated, monitored industries. Monitoring agencies such as The GVRD, The Ministry of Land Water and Air Protection, Environmental Protection Agency ensure that the companies we sell fuel to comply with Provincial, State and Federal emission laws. In addition, the BCUOMA program does not consider the sale of industrial fuel to uncontrolled industries as acceptable and does not pay its return incentives as such.

We collect the used oil from you the customer where we then have it reprocessed at our facility in Burnaby. Once the oil is treated, several different industries use it as an alternate source of fuel.

What does this fuel replace? Products such as: Coal, Diesel, Propane, and Natural Gas etc. All of these are virgin nonrenewable resources. Your waste oil has already served one lifetime lubricating a cars engine for example, so by now being reprocessed and turned into an industrial fuel we are reducing the needs by industry to use virgin nonrenewable sources of fuel.
Your used oil filters are brought to our Burnaby processing facility where they are crushed. Through our process virtually all of the oil is extracted so much so that they are longer considered a special waste by the BC government (documents stating this can be found on our website). The filters once crushed are taken to Allied Salvage where they are sold to a steel mill and turned into products such as rebar for the construction industry. In our course of business we at times find filters that cannot be properly processed, these are taken to a secure landfill in Oregon or Alberta. The oil recovered from this process is processed and turned into industrial fuel.

With +11 years of experience we feel we have perfected the recovery and reuse of the plastic used oil bottles, pails and drums that are brought to us. At our Burnaby facility the bottles are ‘ ground and shredded’ and then placed in a heated centrifuge where we are able to ‘dry’ the plastic flakes and remove almost all of the residual lubricants. Once this process is completed the plastic is taken to Merlin Plastics on Annacis Island where they are able to re-pelletize them for re-use by the plastic industry. The oil is recovered from the centrifuge process and is turned into industrial fuel.

The Antifreeze we collect is taken through no less than seven different stages of treatment in short; we are able treat the waste water to recover the glycol, then we re-blend, re-introduce de-ionized water and a new ad pack to create either 50-50 premix antifreezes or if required for our customers a concentrate product (universal, long life and heavy duty products are available).

Other products or services that we handle such as contaminated fuels, oily rags, interceptors etc. are handled by permitted and government approved third parties such as Sumas Environmental in Burnaby and Clean Harbors Canada Inc. in Delta.

We’d like you to audit us! We have nothing to hide we never have and never will. Many of you have taken a tour of our facilities, attended our open house in July, and now since our move earlier this year you are all more than welcome to see what we are doing in Burnaby. We encourage you all to ask questions, and demand honest answers from all of us in this industry.

Thank you very much for your confidence and continued support. Please call us if you require any further information directly at 604-876-0506.

HERE WE GROW AGAIN!

M&R Environmental continues to grow and expand at a pace like no other in our industry!

Two new positions have been created to service our existing customer base and allow for the company’s continued growth.

Eileen Buck has joined the M&R team as an Area Sales Manager effective August 15th 2005. Eileen comes from out side of the environmental industry but brings with her a strong back ground in sales and customer service. Eileen will be charged with taking care of our automotive market base and will continue to develop new market opportunities where identified.

Ken Moscovitz will start with M&R effective August 22nd 2005 as a Business Development Manager. Ken as well hails from outside of the environmental industry but brings with him extensive knowledge of working with various government agencies and their different divisions. Ken will be putting these skill sets to good use in opening up new market opportunities for M&R.

‘Both Eileen and Ken will be able to use their different backgrounds in sales and customer service to bring fresh, new and innovative ideas with them to our team’ stated George Mate, President of M&R Environmental. ‘Both Eileen and Ken made it very clear during our search process that these were the people that would help us take M&R to new levels and would continue to build on our strong position in the market place’ concluded Mate.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
We’d like to ‘set the record straight’ about some of the misinformation being spread by other companies in our industry. While their lack of honesty is troubling it is not unexpected as our competitors grapple with our growth these past two years in particular.

Effectively communicating our message to over 2500 valued M&R customers at the same time is the toughest part but we’ll try….

First of all, if you have any questions that are raised during a sales presentation by a competitor, please contact us immediately. There are facts and there is fiction. We commit to deal with you in a relationship that is bound by trust, honesty and complete transparency. Here are the facts:

All of the oil we collect from you our valued customer is reprocessed and turned into industrial fuel. M&R Environmental does not and will not sell any industrial fuels to unregulated industries. We only sell our industrial fuels to regulated, monitored industries. Monitoring agencies such as The GVRD, The Ministry of Land Water and Air Protection, and Environmental Protection Agency ensure that the companies we sell fuel to comply with Regional, Provincial, State and Federal emission laws. In addition, the BCUOMA program does not consider the sale of industrial fuel to uncontrolled industries as a process and does not pay its return incentives as such. The province of British Columbia generates approximately 60 million litres of waste oil per annum. This number is generally accepted by the stakeholders, government, and by BCUOMA. There is a re-refinery in BC (one of only 4 in North America) but its capacity to produce re-refined base oils is about 36 million litres or about half of what we generate in waste oil in BC. So what happens to the rest? This is where M&R plays an important role. We collect the used oil from you the customer where we then have it reprocessed at our partner’s site, Active Chemical in Delta BC. Once the oil is treated, thermally, chemically and tested it is used as an alternate source of fuel by several different regulated industries.

What does this fuel replace? Products such as: Coal, Diesel, Propane, and Natural Gas etc. All of these are virgin nonrenewable resources. Your waste oil has already served one ‘lifetime’ lubricating a cars engine for example, so by now being reprocessed and turned into an industrial fuel we are reducing the needs by industry to use virgin nonrenewable sources of fuel. In 2000 Dr. Dennis Brinkman PhD Director of Chemical Development& Technology for Safety Kleen Corp. and Ms. Barbara Perry of Mohawk Lubricants (now Newalta) co-chaired the ASTM First Consensus Standard Written for Industrial-Grade Recycled Fuel Oil: D-6448.

Brinkman describes user-advantages of the new specification D6448: ‘The primary beneficiaries on the seller side will be the used oil recyclers, who will now have a consensus specification on which to base their sale. If they meet the specification, then they have clear justification to market their product as an acceptable fuel within the parameters of the scope of this document. Similarly, the users, such as those with large industrial boilers, should feel confident that the fuel produced to meet this specification will not be detrimental to their boilers and would be viable substitutes for virgin fuel.’*

Both re-refining and reprocessing of waste oil work. It is our opinion as well as many others in this industry, such as Dr Brinkman, PhD, Ms. Perry and in government that both programs work to meet the needs of you the generator and the end user.

All of our competitors sell industrial fuels, somewhere in North America. They have to. There just isn’t the capacity or the market for re-refined lubricants. So why is it so bad when M&R does? When you have a competitor telling you they don’t sell industrial fuels and making this market sound negative take him or her to task for making such a statement because that is just not true.

When they tell you M&R is taking away jobs in BC, ask them how? Because we have grown from a staff of 8 to 22 in the last two years? We have 8 trucks on the road six days a week. As well we are the locally owned and operated guys. Our head office isn’t in Texas or Alberta. We don’t send our profits (if any) out of the province. How bad can that be?
When they tell you that M&R sends and sells all of their industrial fuels to the U.S. Ask them how do they know? Have we taken business, they claim that is bad away from them? We know where we sell our fuel (as well who they sell to) and on average depending on the season and market about half of what we sell remains here in Canada. The U.S. market is larger, that is just a fact for our industry as well as many others. We live in a resourced based province that exports many products to the U.S. Our industrial fuel is just one of many exported products.

Please don’t be fooled because they are having a tough time competing with us. It isn’t our fault that their business models could be out of date and don’t work in today’s business environment. We’d like you to audit us! We have nothing to hide many of you have already taken the tour of our Richmond and Delta facilities we’d like more of you to come by and have a look. We encourage you all to ask questions, and demand honest answers from all of us in this industry. Please visit our website if you can, it has a lot of great information and can be found at: www.mrenviro.com

Thank you very much for your confidence and continued support. Please call us if you require any further information directly at 604-876-0506.

unauthorized waste removal.

It has been brought to our attention through our drivers' visits and our office personnel that there are disposal operators in the marketplace that are literally STEALING various waste products from many of you. As you are aware, many of these products are of value to you when they are properly disposed of. These operators are literally STEALING YOUR REBATES

Here is what they are doing: when they do this.
  • Misrepresenting themselves. Stating that they are under contract with M&R Environmental. We have no third party contractors working for M&R. All of our drivers operate clearly identified/decaled trucks, and wear identifiable uniforms.
  • Literally taking away your filter drums, plastic and used oil at night after business hours. M&R trucks and drivers work 7AM to 6PM Monday to Friday. If we are working on a weekend, it will be during business hours and we will notify you in advance.
  • If not 'after hours,' they are operating during the day and quietly removing your 'rebate-able' product.
Please understand that when they are allowed to do the above, they submit to the British Columbia Used Oil Management Association (BCUOMA) for your rebate - THEY ARE NOT FORWARDING THE REBATE TO YOU - THEY ARE KEEPING IT FOR THEMSELVES! It is theft, plain and simple, and it has to stop. We need your assistance to put and end to this unethical activity.

Our phone number for collection is 604.876.0506.

When M&R Environmental collects any of your waste products, we will forward you your rebate. These others operators will not. They are trespassing and stealing. We encourage you to contact your local authorities. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.

COMPANY NAME CHANGE (03/30/04)

Back in 1994, George started M&R Mobile PlastiGrind. He was driving around a mobile plastic container grinding machine, taking away plastic for recycling. Since that time the company has grown tremendously. We now offer many other processing services and waste solutions: waste oil, waste antifreeze, waste oil filters, and parts washer sales and servicing, plus much more...

Today, we have a fleet of 7 trucks, two processing facilities (Richmond and Delta) and over 20 staff. A real B.C. success story, thanks to the support of our highly valued customers.

To better reflect what we do today as opposed to who we were yesterday, we have decided to change our name to:

M&R Environmental

Only our 'doing business as' has changed. We can still be reached at 604.876.0506.

Everyone at M&R Environmental shares in a commitment to protecting the environment and serving our valued customers. We understand that you have a choice in service providers and we appreciate the opportunity to assist your organization.
